Nautilus

I need to breach, burn again
Feel fire tongue flesh; flesh ‘come force of flame
Smell the life I’ve left

Cold run, engines silent
Weapons stowed, crew on tipy-toes
We long to burn again

Cards and booze were all too good
Memories of home and happiness sublime
But in this cold

We check the parts, revamp the ship
Slowly, slowly let it be, slowly giving in
Obsessive plotting, compulsive counting, overwhelming passion

No longer men
Formed flame familiars
Licking; patient, withheld licking

We will rage again; again will rival the sun, again
Again wage glorious war, death leviathan
And descend
